The purpose of this study was to gather information about current theories on civic education and how the theories are applied around the world. The aim was also to examine the operation of civic education programs in Palestinian schools to gain an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of the programs in order that appropriate tools, resources and strategies could be devised for the ongoing development and training of teachers to bridge any gaps identified in the programs.
