The Stained Glass Ceiling: A Community Conference on the Successes and Challenges of Women’s Religious Leadership

Join Project Interfaith for this community conference designed to catalyze discussion and insight about the successes and challenges for women currently holding or trying to assume leadership roles in various spiritual and religious traditions. The afternoon includes:

– Dialogue and Thought Provoking Speakers

  • Dr. Juliane Hammer, Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Kenan Rifai Fellow in Islamic Studies
  • Padma Kuppa, Columnist for Patheos.com, and an executive council member of the Hindu American Foundation
  • Alisa Roadcup, Founding member of the Women of Spirit and Faith’s Young Leadership Council and activist on women and interfaith issues

– An informational fair of local faith-based and secular women’s leadership organizations, and

– A community art project held in partnership with the Union for Contemporary Art, to which all participants will be given the opportunity to contribute.

All community members are welcome and encouraged to attend this event.  This program is intended to be educational in nature and no proselytizing will be permitted.

Cost is $10 for non-students and $5 for students.
