The International Center for Religion and Diplomacy works with a mission to address identity-based conflicts that exceed the reach of traditional diplomacy by incorporating religion as part of the solution. Its primarily goal is to serve as a bridge between religion and politics in support of peacemaking. ICRD deploys inter-religious action teams to trouble spots where conflict threatens or has already erupted; trains religious leaders and laity in the tasks of peacemaking; and provides feedback to theologians and clergy on interpretations of their teachings that may be contributing to strife and misunderstanding.
