The Muslim South Asia Research Forum (MUSA), SOAS Centre for South Asian Studies (CSAS) and Centre for the Study of Pakistan(CSP) invite you to participate in the 1st Annual Muslim South Asia Graduate Conference to be held on Monday October 28 2013 at SOAS, London, UK.(9-5)
The conference is being organized by the MUSA Research Forum. In line with MUSA’s broad objectives, the conference aims to connect scholars and academics researching any aspect of Muslim societies in South Asia, across disciplinary boundaries. The organizers’ goal is to provide a platform for connecting emerging scholars on this region and theme and to showcase new and innovative thinking in the field. All papers will be published on the MUSA website in Edited Proceedings. Selected papers may be taken forward for publication in an academic journal.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
PhD students and early career researchers from any discipline are invited to apply. The organizers are interested in identifying the most pertinent themes of current research on Muslim South Asia based on your submissions. Panels will be developed accordingly. The organizers especially encourage paper proposals from researchers who have performed, and are basing their findings on primary research. Submission timelines are as follows:
• Abstracts to be submitted by Mon 15 July
• Selected participants will be informed by Fri 2 August
• Tentative panels & discussants will be announced by Fri 16 Aug
• Participants’ final papers to be submitted by Sun 15 Sep
• Conference date Mon 28 Oct
Abstracts must be 300 words or less and submitted as a PDF file to musa@soas.ac.uk. Please give the PDF file and your email the following title ‘MUSA conference 2013_YOUR NAME’. Abstracts must include author name, school and department affiliation, supervisor name, phone number, email address, paper title and up to 5 key-words.
