Short Course for Curriculum Developers, Policy Makers in Education, Teachers and Trainers of Teachers of Citizenship, Culture and Religious Knowledge :

Teaching and learning about religions and beliefs in a human rights context  The course will be looking at various ways of teaching about religion and beliefs. The main framework will focus on how to place such learning and teacing in a human rights context. 

Participants will be asked to reflect on the way that they have been taught about these issue and also the way they presently teach about these issues. What are the main challenges when it comes to teaching about religions and beliefs and how can these challenges be met in a classroom and school environment?

 

Participants will engage in interactive activities thet help them to better understand educational strategies that have worked in a variety of contexts. Best practices will be reviewed, discussed and also engaged in. These practices come from the fields of human rights education, intercultural education, inter-religious understanding, anti-bias training etc.
