On 18 October, CEJI will organize an Open Conference Day which will comprise two parts, a morning Open Workshop Event, and an afternoon Policy Brief Conference at the European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium

8:30-12:45 –  Open Workshop Event

This provides a sample of CEJI’s award-winning suite of training programmes that provide a panoramic approach to issues of religion and belief.
One hour workshops will include:

  •     Religious Diversity Cultural Awareness
  •     Overcoming Antisemitism
  •     Overcoming Islamophobia
  •     Reconciling Religion and Gender
  •     Reconciling Religion and Sexual Orientation
  •     Taking Effective Action for Religious Diversity

14:00 – 18:00 Policy Brief Conference – Learning from Experience, Leading to Engagement with Religion and Belief Diversity

Belieforama brings its experience to bear on the policy debate at European Parliament, providing insights from our survey with religious diversity training participants and consultation with leaders from a variety of religio-cultural organisations.
Hosted by MEP Emine Bozkurt and led by Professor Paul Weller, this conference will offer key considerations and recommendations for policy-makers.
The conference will be followed by a reception outside room A3G2 in the Parliament, including the photo exhibition “Who Am I?” of the Open Society Institute, and a photo booth to give the chance to conference participants and Parliamentarians to express themselves visually.
