FASPE (Fellowships at Auschwitz for the study of Professional Ethics), in collaboration with the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, is now accepting applications from graduate students for a fellowship designed to explore contemporary ethical issues using a unique historical event.
Fellowships include an all-expense paid trip from New York to Berlin, Krakow, and O?wi?cim (Auschwitz) where students will work with leading faculty to explore both history and the ethical issues facing their profession today. All program costs, including international and European travel, lodging, and food, are covered.
The Fellowships, worth $5,000, are available to students in journalism, law, medical, and seminary schools. Twelve to fifteen Fellows from each profession will be chosen to participate in FASPE through a competitive process that draws applicants from across the country. The tentative program dates for each program are:
Journalism: May 21 – June 1, 2012
Law: May 21 – June 1, 2012
Medical: June 17 – June 29, 2012
Seminary: June 17 – June 29, 2012
Candidates of all religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The FASPE curriculum was designed by staff at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in collaboration with faculty from Yale Medical School, Yale Law School, Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, and Georgetown University.
